How do I choose which push notifications I get?

In the iPhone app, open Profile, then Push Notifications, and turn each kind on or off. iOS Settings controls the app as a whole.

In the iPhone or iPad app, open Profile (the gear icon) and choose Push Notifications to pick what sends you a push. To allow or block notifications for the whole app, use the iOS Settings app.

Allow notifications at all

The app asks for permission the first time you sign in. If you said no, open the iOS Settings app, choose Notifications, then Flux Student Directory, and allow them.

Choose what you get

The Push Notifications screen is new, and your app needs to be up to date to show it.

  1. Open Profile (the gear icon).
  2. Select Push Notifications.
  3. Turn each kind on or off: Notices, Polls, Sign-Ups, Permission Slips and News Feed posts.
  4. Under Notices, turn on Only urgent notices if you want a push only for urgent ones.
  5. Under News Feed categories, turn off the categories you do not want a push for.

Everything is on until you change it. These choices change push only. The app and the Notices page still show everything.

News Feed options appear when your school has turned on the News Feed. Posts with no category always send a push if News Feed posts are on.

On the web

The web app has no push notifications. Your alerts appear in the bell icon and on the notifications page inside the app. Some school messages are also sent by email.

Good to know

  • Your choices are saved to your account for each school, not only your device.
  • If you belong to two schools, set each school's choices separately.
