From the School Administrator manual, "News Feed (Streams)".
Only if Flux has made the News Feed available to your school. In School Settings -> Features, a Senior Admin turns Streams on. Every member of the school then sees News Feed in the left menu, right under Students: short posts from your school's authors, newest first, with favorites, saved posts, category filters and search.
Who can write posts. Senior and Junior Admins always can. A Senior Admin can let any other member write posts from Manage Access (see "Permissions: who can write Stream posts"). Everyone else only reads: they never see a New post button or any writing tool.
Writing a post. Authors tap New post, type up to 2,000 characters, choose up to five categories (the same categories as Notices and Documents), and tap Post, or Save draft to finish later. Links in the text become tappable. Tap Add photos to attach up to eight pictures (JPEG, PNG or WebP). Each photo gets an optional Add description for people who use screen readers. Photos are shrunk, made upright, and stripped of location and camera data before anyone can see them. The first time an author writes a post, and again whenever the school changes its policy, they read the posting policy and tap I have read this.
Scheduling a post. Under When in the new-post window, choose Schedule for later and pick a date and time (in your school's time zone, up to a year ahead), then tap Schedule. Nobody sees it, and nobody is notified, until that minute; then it appears and members get the usual one notification. Your scheduled posts and drafts are listed above the feed (only you see them): Change time, Back to draft, Post now or Delete. If the school's News Feed is switched off, or you are no longer allowed to post, when the time comes, the post quietly becomes a draft instead of appearing, and nobody is notified.
Posting policy. On All posts (the link at the top of the feed, for admins), a Senior Admin edits the policy text. The default asks authors to share only what families would expect to see and to check the school's no-photo list. Saving changed text asks every author to acknowledge it again.
All posts. Admins see every post here, whatever its status (published, draft, removed). Any admin can remove a post; it disappears for everyone. An author can delete their own post from the feed.
Photo watermark. Also on All posts, a Senior Admin can switch on a watermark for new photos: your school's name (any text you type), the school logo, or both, in one of five places (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, middle). It is never larger than a third of the photo's shorter side. It applies to photos uploaded after you save; photos already posted are unchanged.
Favorites. Everyone can favorite a post. The count is public; who favorited is never shown to anyone, admins included.
Reported posts. Any member can report a post that is not their own: on the web, select the flag under the post; in the app, press and hold the post (or swipe it) and choose Report this post. They pick a reason (spam or advertising, inappropriate content, harassment or bullying, private information about a child or family, a safety concern, or something else) and can add a short note. The report goes only to your school's Senior Admins, who get a notification; other families never see that a report was made, and only Senior Admins see who sent it. Reporting the same post twice counts once, and one person can send at most ten reports an hour. On All posts, a Senior Admin sees Reported posts at the top, newest first, with the reason, the note, who reported it and the post. For each report you can Remove post (it disappears for everyone), Remove posting access (takes back the author's right to write posts; their earlier posts stay until you remove them), or Dismiss once you have looked. Admins write posts because of their role, so there is no posting access to take back from them; to deal with an admin's post, remove it. Every report, dismissal and removal of posting access is written to the audit log. A Senior Admin can also choose Remove posting access straight from any post in the feed (the person-with-a-minus button on the web, or the same press-and-hold menu in the app).
Revoking an author. Remove the Stream Author chip in Manage Access. The person stops seeing writing tools right away. Their earlier posts stay; their unpublished drafts stay hidden from them and remain for the school.
