How do I manage parents, password resets and student links?
Go to Access for everyone with access to your school — parents, staff and admins. Each person is a card; the buttons below act on that person.

From the School Administrator manual, "Members — Parents, Password Resets, and Student Links".
New: Manage Access. Go to Manage Access (
/manage-access) for a single combined view of everyone with — or invited to — your school's access, instead of visiting Members, Pending Invites, and Manage other Admins separately. People are grouped under section headings — Active Admins, Active School Staff, Active Parents / Guardians, then the same three for Pending — sorted by last name within each section. Each row shows name, email, role, and any linked students as tags (a registered member's tag can be removed; a pending person's tag is just a preview of who they'll be linked to once they register, with no remove control). Click-to-filter by role category and by Active/Inactive/Pending status, live search (also matches a linked student's name, so searching your kid's name finds you), and one "+ Invite someone new" button covering every role. Inviting an email that already has any role at your school (active or already-pending) is never duplicated — you're told inline that they already have that access, and nothing is sent. Inviting an existing parent to a staff/admin role, however, always goes through — you're just told inline that they were already a parent, and their role at your school changes to the one you invited them to. Checking one or more pending invites shows a "Resend invite" bar at the bottom of the page to re-send several at once. Access is the one place for all of this in your left nav (labeled plainly Access, not Manage Access, since there's no parent-facing "Access" page to confuse it with). Everything the older Members, Pending Invites, and Manage other Admins pages did is now on Access and described below ("Members — Parents, Password Resets, and Student Links", "Pending Invites", "Managing Other Admins"). The older pages have been removed; an old bookmark to one of them now opens Access.SwiftUI app: the same combined list is available on iPhone/iPad/Mac from an Access row in the sidebar (Senior Admin only), including a "+" button to invite someone new. Tapping any row opens a person-detail screen with the same role picker (auto-saves, no Save button), Linked Students, and — for a pending row — Text Link/Resend/Copy Link/Revoke actions (a member's linked student has no Remove control here yet). A pending invite's role picker lists only staff roles (admin roles can be given once they register, or with a new invite), and your own row has no role picker or Deactivate Access. Revoke and Deactivate Access ask you to confirm first; a deactivated member shows Reactivate Access. On iPhone, swipe a pending row left for Resend and Revoke, or swipe a member row left for Deactivate (both ask you to confirm first); swipe a pending row right for Text Link, which opens Messages with the same registration link the invite email uses, ready to text to the family directly (on Mac, this is Copy Link instead, since Mac has no Messages compose sheet). To resend several pending invites at once, long-press any pending row to enter selection mode, then drag up or down to select more — a bar at the bottom lets you Resend Invite for everyone selected in one tap, or Cancel to back out. Only selected rows the current search still shows are counted and sent.
Go to Access for everyone with access to your school — parents, staff and admins. Each person is a card; the buttons below act on that person.
Changing a person's role or removing access (Senior Admin only): use the role dropdown on their card (it saves as soon as you pick — you'll see Saved), or click Deactivate to suspend their access (the button becomes Reactivate). You can't change your own role or deactivate yourself. To take away an admin's admin rights without deleting their account, click Revoke admin access — this makes them a regular parent. A member you deactivate cannot restore their own access: if they sign in, they see Your access was deactivated by your school with your school's name and a note to contact you — only your Reactivate brings them back. (Someone who deleted their own account still gets the self-service "Reactivate my account" button during the 30-day grace period; that is a different situation.) A deactivated Senior Admin no longer counts as a successor: if you deactivate the only other Senior Admin, you can't demote or deactivate yourself until you promote someone else.
A parent with no linked student left at your school is automatically deactivated (they've nothing left to do there), separately from the manual Deactivate button above. If they're later linked to a student here again — a roster re-import, "Add a parent," or the student picker below — they're automatically reactivated too, so a family that leaves and later returns isn't left locked out waiting for an admin to notice and manually reactivate them. This automatic reactivation only applies to that automatic deactivation: a parent you deactivated yourself with Deactivate, or one who chose Delete Account, stays deactivated even if they're linked to a student again — use Reactivate.
When a deactivated person is finally removed. Thirty days after someone is deactivated or deletes their own account, their login is permanently removed and their private notes, stars and lists go with it. Everything they published for the school (Notices, Documents, Polls, Sign-Ups, Permission Slips, calendar events, Organizations and Classes, Audiences, templates) stays: it is handed to a successor at your school, so nothing disappears and nothing is left without an owner. The successor is a Senior Admin (sorted by last name, then first name, then who has had an account longest); if there is no other Senior Admin, a Junior Admin the same way; if there is none, the Staff Member who has been at the school longest. A Permission Slip a parent already answered keeps the parent's name and email and the student's name on the answer, so you can still see who signed. If nobody else at your school could inherit (for example you are the last Senior Admin and the only person left), the account is not removed, so keep at least one other admin or staff member with an account.
Account tools (any admin) — click Account tools on a registered person's card. It works for anyone, not just parents; a member who is both staff/admin and a parent gets these tools too. To protect admin accounts, Send password reset and Change email only work on another admin if you are a Senior Admin, and nobody can use them on someone who is an admin at another school or on a Flux support account. Where they would be refused, the two buttons are not shown at all (the card says "You can't change this person's sign-in details from here.") and the student search below still works. You can always use them on yourself:
- Send password reset — emails them a reset button and a 6-digit code. The button works in any browser, so it is what to tell them to use. A green confirmation appears at the top of the page.
- Change email — type a new email and click Change email to update it on their behalf.
- Search students… — find a student and click Add link to link this person to an additional student directly (useful when "I'm not linked to my own kid" needs a quick fix). To unlink, click the × on that student's tag on the card and confirm. The unlink also removes that person's pre-approval for that student, so the link does not come back the next time they sign in. It does not outlast your school information system: the next roster import that still lists that person as the student's parent links them again, because the system you import from is treated as the source of truth. To make the removal permanent, remove the parent from that student in your school information system too.
Inviting staff — click + Invite someone new, enter an email, pick a role (Teacher, Counselor, front-office, leadership…), and click Send invite. Pending invites show on their own cards with Revoke invite. Staff get read-only roster access and no admin rights — they're a separate concept from parents (no linked students) and from admins (see Inviting School Staff (Read-Only Access)).
Permissions: who can write Stream posts
Only if Flux has turned on Streams for your school. Manage Access then shows a Permissions section above the list, with one row per person who holds extra access and a chip for each. Admins can always write Stream posts, so they show Stream Author (by role). A Senior Admin can let any other active member write posts: choose the person under Let someone write Stream posts and click Give posting access. Their row in the main Manage Access list then also carries a Stream Author chip (and an Organization Editor chip for each organization they edit). Click Remove on their chip in Permissions to take it away; their earlier posts stay. Junior Admins can see the section but cannot give or remove access. Use the filter chips (Everyone, Stream Author, Organization Editor) to narrow the list. Organization Editor chips are read-only here; manage them on the Organization's own page. Every change is written to the Audit Log.
