# Can I write a News Feed post when I am offline?

Yes, in the app. Your post is saved on your phone and sent when you are back online.

Yes, in the iPhone, iPad and Mac app. If you are offline when you select **Post**, the app saves the post on your device and sends it when you are back online.

Available when your school turns on the News Feed, and only for Stream Authors and administrators.

## What you see

1. Write your post as usual. If you attach a photo, the app says it will upload later.
2. Select **Post**. The window closes.
3. The feed shows a quiet **Waiting to post** row.
4. When your connection returns, the post goes out with its photos. Pull down to refresh and it appears once in the feed.

If you close the app while offline, the waiting row is still there when you reopen it.

## Change your mind

Swipe the waiting row to discard it.

## Scheduled posts

A scheduled post written offline keeps its time. If its time passes before you reconnect, it posts as soon as the connection returns.

## Good to know

- The web app needs an internet connection to post.
- While you are offline, the feed still shows posts you already loaded, with a quiet "You're offline" note.
- Your school's posting policy still applies to every post.
